Just got back home from the mass gathering to abolish ISA, solidarity call for the recent victims arrested under the ISA, detention without trial.
Great speeches from famous political fighters like Uncle Kit and Penang CM YB Lim Guan Eng. This is the 2nd major political gathering that I participated and the numbers definitely bigger than the previous PROTES 2008 that I attended. Met some prominent political bloggers there as well.
Final speech was from our Prime Minister in waiting, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Publicly, DSAI assured that he has the numbers to form a federal government and in fact today Pakatan Rakyat sent a letter to Dollah Badawi to arrange a meet up. A peaceful transition of power is from BN to Pakatan is one of the agenda in the letter co-signed by DSAI (PKR), Uncle Kit (DAP) & Hadi Awang (PAS). And Malaysia for once see hope when an UMNO minister, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim tendered his resignation today to Dollah. Anwar adviced the public to be patient and expect a surprise from the UMNO hero himself, Datuk Zaid.
Anwar again stressed that if Pakatan comes to power tomorrow, immediate decrease in petrol price and immediate release for all ISA detainees. Insyallah, god-willing, we will be bless in this holy Ramadhan month.
I end this post with few pictures taken at the gathering. Better catch some sleep as I am heading for Sabah later. Good night!

I was having dinner with my ex-colleagues & a female friend last night at The Curve. It had been a while since I last meet the bunch. We had great time and like many others who are close to me, they are very interested in my private life, like if I found a gf or not.D: "So Mike, what's new in your life?"Me: "Been busy with works, what do you want to know?"D: "Though busy with works, once in a while you got to get service your salami"Me: "Huh?"N (a girl): "Mike, your antenna very short-lah"Then when I got back home, I did a wikipedia on "SALAMI" and....
"Salami is cured sausage, fermented and air-dried. Salami may refer specifically to a class of salumi (the Italian tradition of cured meats), where an individual sausage or style of sausage (e.g. Genoa) would be referred to with the singular Italian form salame."Then I finally know what he meant by servicing my salami. Hmm... interesting. It had been a while since I last got my salami serviced. Right now at the moment, my salami perhaps look like this.
Got caught up in the net. If they can regard guy's part as salami, I am wondering what do you call for the opposite sex? Any idea?
ps: it had been a great fun night, thanks to dave for the dinner & guiness draught.
The day after the All Blogs 100 Days party, I went to the PROTES rally at Stadium Kelana Jaya which is next to my office building on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Having the priviledge to get a good car park as a season parking holder for Brem Tower, Kelana Jaya. The picture above was taken from the carpark of my office.PROTES was organized to protest on the petrol price hike and the foundation targeted to gather about a million Malaysians for the rally. Though the turnout was not up to the expectation, I beg to differ with our DPM who said the rally was a failure. Enough of all comments on the media. I was there, and we were there for a reason, a reason all Malaysians will benefit.Reached there about 1PM, the scene looks like any normal football match day with stalls selling food & drinks. Instead of state jerseys & shirts, the peddlers were selling PROTES red shirts, badges, stickers & head bands.

The event was really peaceful, we were entertained with Chinese lion dances, some cultural performance by the Indian community like below. A beautiful sajak session. The Sunday was overall a beautiful one until one of the underground punk band did their performance. Some obscenities pursuit and there were minor fights occured (trust me, it was really minor, I had seen worst!). The organizer managed to calm the crowd and the rally was continued as usual. The BN owned medias are seriously bias when comes to reporting on Oppossition events, even the news I heard this morning over Mix.FM, they still humping on this small glitches that happened on that rally. When can the media be more free? I am wondering.
In the stadium, I met Uncle Zorro and sat next to him, we chatted a bit not too much on political issues but on our daily life (work, personal, children, etc). He certainly a very much respected figure to me, fighting for a better Malaysia tomorrow for the sake of our fellow Malaysians.
Giant banners coloured the whole stadium. I think the mission is pretty simple, this is what we want and we want to be heard. We Malaysians buy our own car, our own house, put in our own petrol at our own cost unlike Ministers who are chauferred around by drivers, free cars, free petrol, free official houses and being highly paid with allowances. You know, if I have huge salary with huge allowances, I will not need to come here right? That is logic. Mr. Ministers, do you have a heart for the people? For the rakyat?
Not many police were seen that day. But suspected some secret or intelligent agents standing on top of Glomac building. I heard some say that there were attempts to jam the mobile network around the Kelana Jaya area (am not sure whether it's true or not, all my SMSes managed to go through though). Choppers seen surveilling the area as well.
The crowd that night was at the best listening to main speaker of the night. I am not sure of the total turnout, my 2 cents, approximately 20-30k that night.
What's next? I am not sure as well. There is no logic in what our current federal government executed for the past 100 days. No common sense at all. I do hope that Pak Lah & Najib will be brave enough to debate all these rakyat's sufferings come this July 15th. Please tell us the truth. Please enlighten us.TURUN! TURUN! HARGA MINYAK!
The Alliance of Bloggers' 100 Days night was all fun. There are reasons why I prefer this gathering rather than the animal nuffnang party. One of them is that there is no obligation to write any post like most of the events nuffnang organizes these days all nuffnang gathering that I attended, I had never written anything before, all due to invitation extension to me. And being actively a reader for political blogs, it always feels good to meet people who I regard them as "heroes" of Malaysia. Pretty relax and these bloggers who are fighting for a better Malaysia are all really nice bunch and do not have the tag of "celebrity bloggers" like most nuffnang party fills with.Tony Yew is kind enough to extend his invitation to me, although I am also working for LG (LG is one of the sponsors for the event), so I am attending as one of the bloggers. Cool lad with good auction skills.
The star of the night was none other than RPK himself, this is my second meeting with him, the first was at a ceramah before the GE. He is always charismatic as usual and down to earth. In fact, that particular day, he came immediately to the Blog House after spending hours at the Sentul police station.
Thanks to the sponsors of the night, LG contributed 4 phones in total. 3 phones were given out as lucky draw prizes that night and the other additional phone will be a SECRET. Go check out other political blogs to figure out how to win this additional phone. Picture below is KS Park (Senior Product Manager for LG) & the famous Uncle Rocky.
With all the petrol price hike, we surely need this. Kind contribution by AirAsia, trips to Bali damn, I need a getaway!!!. Picture below AirAsia GM Aziz Bakar with Rocky.
I did not took many pictures myself though. Managed to get one with Uncle Bernard & TV Smith. And also not forgetting the MP for Kelana Jaya, YB Loh Gwo Burne & his brother Gordon.

Oh ya, Josh Lim was there too. Well, there maybe a thing or two disagreement between us but that night we had fun right Josh? No hard feelings mate. And Boss Stewie was not seen which is rather weird as Jeff & AirAsia were there. And picture below Kerp with LG Marketing Exec Nicole & LG promoter.
And the only MP from BN, Jerlun YB Mukhriz Mahathir, he definitely made the difference. But the night is unique, as per RPK say, the night at Blog House, everyone comes together discarding their (political) differences.
Other prominent bloggers who were there last night - Nuraina @ 3540 Jln Sudin, Malik @ Disquiet, YB Jeff Ooi, BigDog, Haris @ People's Parliament, YB Ronnie Liu & apology if anyone that I miss out. Oh ya, a big celebrity joined us too. For more pictures do pimp Jinggo. Thanks to all the sponsors for prizes though I win no shit. It was definitely a very nice outing though some did not, I don't know why. And after Blog House, I went to another LG event at Maison Heritage Row, more pictures tomorrow.Cheers!

I will be attending the above event tonight @ Blog House , No. 66 Lorong Setiabestari 2, Bukit Damansara, 50490 KL. If any of you bloggers & readers there, do say hello ya. Event details here.
In between, I also started a new poll thanks to the nuffnang widget. I started the poll not because I want to defame anyone, just to listen how other Malaysians or foreigners who are reading mikemmery feels. Do participate.
Personally I am a bit tired of all this uncertainties happening in this country, with all the buttfucking news flaming around, tired & disgusted. It had come to a point that the word "Malaysia" becoming the laughing stock of the world because of this.
I have a sister who is residing in Hong Kong, I have Malaysian buddies who work in Singapore, Japan, The States & England. None of these wise buddies of mine have a second thought to come back Malaysia. Frankly, our country is not that bad after all, really. Looking around, people of different cultures, races & religions, we can sit together and watch football at mamak, we are a harmonious bunch. But with the worsening economy state and people have less disposable income to spend, it makes the people restless & felt like living in a pressure cooker.
Myself, I have a decent lifestyle but I do feel the pinch very much with all the hikes and policies by our current administrator. I look at other countries, human rights are so great, people can speak, choose, practice without fear. Here, we do not have that privilege. Only bloggers dare to speak out, even that we bloggers also at risk of being arrested, caged, with laptop seized. These are all the fears. My parents, my family, my close buddies advised me to tone down the way of my political posts in this blog but frankly I am not political incline to BN or PKR, but I am more towards to those who can get things done. Not everyone can be politician, those who can must live up to that pressure and people's expectation.
It's a joke at times, for example our Prime Minister, I am wondering how can he stands side by side with other PMs from other countries with his rotten English, with his images caught sleeping, with him honeymooning with his wife, with him officiating Nasi Kandar shop while the people in Johor experienced the worst flood ever. All this are not mere gossips to smear his name, all this are supported with facts & pictures. I am ashame not because I am Malaysian, I am ashame because I have such a PM who always lie to his people which is us the "rakyat"
Enough said, I shall be equipped with my camera for BlogHouse later.
Have a great weekend!
Updates: In between, I will be joining the PROTES rally tomorrow (05/07/2008; 10AM) at Stadium Kelana Jaya. For the betterment of Malaysia, let's join.
I am amazed with the quality of pictures taken with my LG KS20. Picture taken above was without flash, white balance = auto, 2.0MP, super fine settings. I was at The Amphitheatre, Sunway Lagoon last night to witness the demolition of Liverfool Liverpool.
Myself, Chris & Jason, we arrived there like 7.30pm, my first time to Amphitheatre, and I got to say I love the above picture, overseeing the main landmarks in Sunway, pictures taken with my LG KS20. And accidentally bumped into one of my reader, Ms. Chek who happened to be a VIP for the event.
Since we were early, we got the best seating in the Stadium, equipped with a few packs of beers & soft drinks, we enjoyed the atmosphere throughout the night. I got to admit that the Reds overshadowed the Devils in term of crowd last night but we Devils had the biggest laugh in the end of the day when the Kops were transformed to Corpses. To the Reds that reading my blog, better luck next time mate, no hard feeling... HAHAHAHAHAHA :P
We were entertained by the EPL dancers and there were few EPL legends that joined the event. I only blardy recognised Phil Babb & Ray Parlour only, the rest tak kenal-lah.
And at the very beginning when the Reds in the Stadium were chanting away their songs, they were silenced by Wes Brown fluke goal. I was telling my buddies, tonight we will thrash them and indeed the scoreline (3-0) did the talking. Corpses out there...SIR Alex Ferguson
SIR Matt Busby
Bill Shankly
