It's 8.03PM now, I am still in the office. This is my 2nd subsequent post in tribute of my best friend's mom who passed away peacefully yesterday. Minority of my friends in KL & Singapore perhaps are already down in Melaka to pay their very last respect, I am deeply sorry for not being able to go down myself due to work commitment, though we are brothers from different mothers, deep down we felt the same, as we grow up together, been through the journey together.



This was taken back almost 8 years back. To my best friend who reading this, auntie will shine on you from heaven, I specially dedicate this song for you, my brother.

Fragile

Life is indeed fragile, today I felt lost & pain of a best friend I regard as brother. I am saddened with the news of his mom demise this morning, I was stunned as I had just seen her mom few days back with much joy & happiness. It reminds me of how fragile this life is, the story moved me emotionally that I felt tears on my eyes. The same story that touched my heart a while ago.

I called mom immediately, I shared my thoughts with her and like a little child she consoled me, mommy thanks.

My sincere deepest condolences to my friend, I shall not reveal his identity, and I know that he is my blog reader too.


ps: the past posting, let's forget & forgive, I hope she learnt from what it is, & she also had since removed the post. Kate, never judge or degrade a person. You and me, we are afterall human, we need to learn to respect each other and appreciate life.

Gift From God

Overall I am having a great weekend breakaway from the bustling KL city, attending one of my best friend's wedding procession. I shall follow up with pictures & posting real soon.

Today I would like to write about something that I discover while blog hopping. I am rather disturbed and upset with a post that I discovered last night. Check out this posting before you read further and frankly I do not mind to even divert a few traffic into her site. I know it is her blog that I am reading and it is a platform for her to vent out her anger & rants. But I felt she perhaps had gone over the board. She reminded us of a local politician who recently commented that "wheel-chaired bound people is because of punishment from God" (latest update 29/10/2007 0044hrs : Copykate had removed her controversial post so the link above is not working and I believe she had learnt a big lesson from this. The moral of the story, never condemn the disables or handicaps, they are human just like us)

My findings;
- She is upset of a person who is of a gifted from God over her dead stained bag.
- That little child's mom apologised & offered to clean the bag.
- She repeatingly calling that girl a retard and continously expressing her hatred towards retards.

Yes, you are a scholar & you may be graduated and get yourself a degree & a proper job in near future but does that really permits you to degrade these GIFTED individuals??? I am a strong believer of Karma (what goes around, comes around). It reflected your personalities even as a 17 years old girl, I personally felt saddened, real saddened in fact. You may have impressed with the countless pictures you posted but you yourself polluted it.

Ok, signing off now, let's make this earth a better place for you & for me :)

Jeff Ooi in Da House & Maxis Broadband Part II

It was just a normal working day for me and Jeff Ooi made a surprise visit to my office today. I had been reading Screenshots for quite a bit and his many postings had enlightened & broadened my perspective of Malaysian political environment. It is indeed a pleasure to meet the Godfather of Malaysian blogosphere himself as he had inspired me in many aspects. Greeted him "godfather" and the whole room filled with laughters. Thanks Jeff for the smile from the heart, appreciate it.



Check out his latest post. Thanks to him we know that there is someone who is representing the rakyat claimed that wheelchair-bound individual is a punishment from God. Which God he prays to? I am wondering.

Out of context a bit - my past post on Maxis Broadband, many have requested me to give my review & feedback on this service. OK, this is just my 2 cents and my very humble opinion. Since I am not being paid to review this, I will just share the reason I chose Maxis instead of other operators. Celcom, I do know that they provide a Vodafone modem of this size too at a rate RM120 (I am not sure) while Maxis is RM138, a mere RM18 difference. Reason of sticking to Maxis (also my mobile operator) because of the satisfaction that I had enjoyed all this while from the customer service.

Speed wise - Maxis claimed that with HSDPA coverage, it can goes up to 3.6MBps. I am staying in Bandar Kinrara 2 with UMTS connection. The average speed I enjoy here over my place is about 600Kbps which I have no complain at all as I am not a torrent or downloading kaki.

Service - Maxis also provide another broadband service with a slightly bigger & bulkier modem. I chose this USB Wireless Broadband reason being I want to be mobile and able to check my mail, blog reading & updating anywhere, wherever, whenever I want. Even if I am not at an area with HSDPA/UMTS coverage, the modem will auto switch to either EDGE or GPRS connection, again decent connection as I had been through those dial-up era. Frankly, we cannot compare this to Streamyx in terms of its speed. Streamyx ain't mobile and you need a fixed line to get the service, to me it is really depend on your personal requirement.

As for other wireless services, DiGi we can understand that their connection is only up to Edge as they are not granted the 3G or 3.5G tender at this time yet. We have Izzi but the one time payment that we need to fork out for the wireless card is pretty ridiculous. But with more players in the wireless market, the one who will benefit is definitely us right? Click on the banner ad below for more info on the coverage & packages offered by Maxis :)

Maxis Broadband

Weeks ago, I signed up for Maxis Broadband. Initially thought of signing the normal blardy bulky modem that they offering, but some cool staff there offered me this and instantly I signed up with them. The HSDPA 3.5G USB Modem. So here's how the box looks like.



So the package is pretty OK, pay up activation fees of RM 100 and monthly charges is RM 138. And being able to get connected almost anywhere, wtf is RM 138? Anyway, I am pretty sure they will review their price pretty soon because Celcom got the same package at lower rate. So what you got in the box? A very cute oval shape modem, USB cable & setup CD (only for MAC user). For Windows user, pretty easy to set up, just plug in and auto install the program.



My place here, UMTS (3G) signal is detected. No complain as maximum transfer rate I ever experienced over at my place is around 1MB/sec. Pretty reasonable for me, as I don't do torrent or MP3 downloading. Most of the time blog hopping and updating only, normal mails checking.



And being Maxis Broadband user is not that bad after all, they chose to advertise on my blog. And I am not being paid to review this, Maxis is fortunate enough to have an user like me :P , and from their database eh, I had been using Maxis for quite some years, and being a good paymaster, they gave me a pretty decent limit for my mobile :)

Genting Founder Dies

Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, the founder & honorary life president of Genting group, passed away today at 11.20am at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre. I received the news via sms slightly after my lunch and did my Google search and it's true at this time when I updated this post. For more news click here.

My sincere condolences to Tan Sri's family and indeed he had put many smiles in all of us.

I promised not to blog anything about work, but this time around is a bit different. I am having goodies to share with my readers. I think by now many have read in the paper that LG is the official presenter for 2 concerts to be held here.

Presenting TVXQ, the acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi (東方神起),the famous korean band on their 2nd Asia Tour Concert here. I always having difficulties pronouncing the band's name, making my tongue goes haywire all the time. When I wikipedia-ed this band, I finally know the reason they are so big, they are big because they are "Gods Rising From East". Last I heard, the ticket pre-sale here were all snapped up within hours.

The 2nd concert that we will be main presenter will be Taiwan biggest girl band, S.H.E. Ahhhh... this one I know lah, the Selina, Hebe & tomboy Ella, the group that sing the Superstar song (excuse me, I am pure banana and give credit a bit lar for knowing this band). I am more antipated for this concert, to be frank. But both concert also I will must go as I had promised someone d.

I came on a few occassions citing giant billboards along highway applauding the Angkasawan project. This is one seriously overrated project that caused us Malaysian taxpayers a bomb (appx US$20mil or so). And what's next installed for this space tourist? Datukship I bet, cover stories on local newspaper & magazines. And perhaps he should sing Taylor Hicks "Do I Make You Proud?" song as soon as he lands. And this joker can announce on his blog the food that he's gonna bring to space. Although he had since monopolized the local media headlines, he is just a mere peanut in the blogosphere.

There are far more juicy and hot facts thanks to the online world. I guess the media must be too busy covering the space project that they had forgotten about this video.



Ahh... correct, correct, correct... I had also found this interesting blog by an 18-year-old Malaysian who wrote beautiful stuff about the Judiciary controversy. And do you also know, ACA given ultimatum to PKR Vice President, R Sivarasa & party worker, Sim Tze Tzin to give details of the source of the video or risk going to jail. I mean wtf? Kind people who exposed the video risk going to jail when names mentioned in the video are still at large? Seriously wtf.

It had been a while since I last tasted the bitterness of love, I once thought without her I can no longer cope with my daily routine, a total change of my lifestyle when she's gone.

Blogger Tips

Ever since I accidentally hit a button on blogger dashboard, I lost everything except for my post and it is a pretty tedious job to do to keep everything on track again, a reader today told me she misses the previous layout, blue is a little too gloomy. This current layout is however by default a template by blogger, I am thinking of a total makeover with new banner as well. Give me a little bit of time, but in the meantime I will still blog consistently.

And talking about makeover, any designer blogger/reader who willing to assist me on this? The most buy you people a good dinner at TGIF :) If not, I will need to get expertise to do it for me in which they will charge :(

While picking up the bits & pieces of this blog again, I found out something which perhaps might be useful for my other blogger friends, maybe most of you all already know but sharing is caring mah :)



If you also observe, I changed my favicon from the normal "Blogger" icon to "M" icon. So whenever my page is viewed or bookmarked, the "M" icon will show instead of the traditional "Blogger" icon.

Here is the step-by-step on "How to Create Favicon on Blogger"
1) Create a favicon. I created my favicon here. Save the file as favicon.ico
2) Find a host for the file, I hosted my file at MyFavatar, sign up and upload your favicon
3) MyFavatar will generate a HTML code to be placed on Blogger
4) Copy & paste the codes and place it between "head" & "/head" on your Blogger template
5) Save settings, refresh your blog a few times and voila.

So have you change your favicon yet? Good luck

I got a new facelift on my blog, it took a while for me to get it right though. Now everyone would know what's my favourite color but no worry princess-princess sekalian, my brain still very much not in this color :P

I am gonna walk down the memory lane a bit today. Do you have a hero when you were much younger? One hero that really accompanying at least my growing years, nonetheless Mr. Stallone himself playing Rambo. Remember the one man show killing rampage that made Jackie Chan another sissy on its category :P

Yeah, First Blood was here when I am about 4 years of age that was back in 1982 and I believe many readers of mine were not even born then, see how old uncle Mike is :)



Then we have First Blood : Part 2 and followed by Rambo 3. I still remember, pimping the gaming arcades back then (20cents only) and we had a game made popular by Rambo also.



Introducing Green Beret, I am sure many of my peers played this before and I once landed myself in the police station because underage mar that time.

Holidays Over

The raya holiday is over. It is again another dreading day to get my ass to the office, who doesn't enjoy holiday anyway? For the long weekend, I decided to go back Malacca. One thing at least for now, the journey to South been an enjoying one, thanks to PLUS highway improvement in the extension of lanes at the Seremban bottleneck hotspots. Hopefully, *cross fingers*, uncle Sammy does not proceed with his toll price hike plan at the end of this year.



Last Friday, we were given option to work half a day or to work full day, I chose the latter as I had site meeting in Kajang. Myself & Andrew were the last person in the office that night till about 8PM. Left office and had this funny craving for doughnuts again, thanks to Nicole lar, I think she jangkit the craving to me, I went to the Curve to get myself half dozen of Big Apple. Can't wait till JCo opens its 2nd outlet in the Pyramid New Wing.



Packed up my stuff, and heavy downpour caused me delaying my trip back. Left KL exactly 1AM and with my ipod, journey was quite enjoyable. I had a real good rejuvenating rest back home although Pa & Ma went for their own honeymoon in Thailand. Mingled around with my siblings, relaxing at home, had good satay celup & other Malacca delicacies. And thanks to that someone who entertained me with SMSes throughout my holidays *ahem* *ahem*, I will need to go back Malacca again this coming 26th to attend a wedding on the following day, anyone wanna go down to chill, do let me know ya, I think my house can accomodate, no worries :)

To avoid the jam, myself & my brother decided to leave Malacca after lunch today. Traffic pretty a breeze, dropped my brother off at his campus and went back home, did a little clean up and over MSN, a close girl female friend sent this,

Me: At home lar, duh...
M: What doing at home?
Me: Doing nothing...
M: Come my place now, dinner, my mom cooks Bak Kut Teh
Me: Uhh, dont want lar, controversy. Few times ur mom saw me fetch u back, now invite dinner, wah lao, later ur mom thinks otherwise

Me: Uhh...

Leave me no choice rite the msn messages? So, I bergegas changed and head towards my friend's place lar. It was a good decision to join indeed. I had a good dinner, at least the warmth of a home cooked dinner that I long craving for. Got uncle, auntie & kid around, makes the dinner more lively. Auntie cooked quite a tasty BKT but too bad not enough rice. And also the chicken wine tasted really good.

End of The Road

Holidays season around the corner, the mood of working deteoriated and it is only a Thursday, and myself I have tons to do and tomorrow where some were on force leave, myself opted for a full working day as again I will need to go for a site meeting in Kajang tomorrow. I am still very undecided whether to drive back to my hometown in Melaka, the fact to crawl in the jam turns me off. Perhaps can get a date here and chill? :)

Sometimes my friends claimed that Chinese songs got prettier lyrics & meaning than those in English, I do not tend to agree 100%, there are some which really can touch many hearts. Singlehood Month #10

They said time heals everything, for the very first time after all these months, I am feeling more positive about my singlehood. On & off, I heard my mates having troubled relationships or some close female friends who allowing me to be their ears when they need a listener, listen people, I had been through it and perhaps some of you all got pretty bored to read this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this & this, trust me you all will be doing as fine as me.

As I look at it, 10 months flies just like that, sorrows & loneliness which once a mental torture to me had now faded thanks to the stressful work that I am having now and my little blog here which growing readers day in, day out. Dulu where got people comment on my posting? Now, sikit syok-lar.

And guys & girls, thanks for your concern, just like the above mentioned title, my current status is still very much an eligible bachelor. I know the past postings been a little cheeky and at the same time I do not want to deny that I meet people of the opposite sex but somehow I just felt that it is just not about the time. Nevertheless, I am seriously looking forward to **ahem***ahem** our first date **ahem***ahem** (weather been so bad, must drink more beer water)

Mabuk Can?

I am just back from happy hour-ing with 2 of my ex-colleagues, it had been a while since we last chatted up and it feels good to catch back those days. We had our session in Friendster Cafe located in Damansara Perdana and had a tower of beer complimentary from the bosses of Friendster.

It had been a while since I last done my happy hour session, it is always good to have a couple mugs of beer and to have a good sleep, moreover it is drizzling right now, best time to zzzz off isn't it? I am a bit tipsy now, but I told myself this post must be up no matter what...

Looking back at my October schedule, it is pretty hectic, I got a pre-planned monthly appointments full for all weekdays and I am only available during weekends. Plenty of travelling involved and I am looking forward to everone of it though it is pretty tiring. I also had my November schedule done up, and I do not understand why so many couples got married towards this part of the year. I got not less than 5 wedding invitation and i got a few Scorpios celebrating their birthdays in November.



Looking forward to someone's birthday celebration @ J.Co & Haagen Dasz buffet. Life is good, isn't it? Anyone to celebrate my big day with me???

Am I Ready?

I received an SMS from one of my Angel, one of my upcoming trip had been retimed, at least we see an improvement in AirAsia to at least notify us a month before our flight but the sad part is that perhaps we need not sleep the night before our departure, looking forward to this backpacking trip with 2 of my Angels & blogger buddy (get well soon k!!!) :P



Yes, I am flying again. Since my break up, I had been pampering myself with lots of travelling and of cos it burned a hole in my pocket too (hatyai, bangkok, chiangmai, macau, china, singapore and upcoming cambodia), but all an eye opener to me and I enjoyed most of it frankly.



Last week, I received an unexpected call from HER. I am glad I am cool enough to control my emotion and politely rejected a policy plan she wanted me to invest on (I do not want to commit anything with her during my recovery period). All I got to say, 10 months passed, I am cherishing the best moments we once had 4 years back and at the same time I am looking forward and slowly but surely the hope of us patching back together will fade away someday. Along this journey of recovery, I had met a few princesses which I feel can be compatible companion for me but timing is not right as yet. Let's pray that a princess can make me fall in love again *cross fingers*

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish my best friend who had been there during my most difficult time. Happy birthday mate, unlike many other years before, no more big celebration but then it's your special day! Happy birthday in advance mate!

Nuffnang Boleh!

I am a bit on ecstasy when opening my hotmail inbox... ***jeng jeng jeng***... i got consecutive 3 emails from nuffnang, I got advertisers that booked all my spots until end of this month. Thanks to nuffnang, I remember the last time I rant about AirAsia, the next thing I knew was that there was an AirAsia leaderboard ad for me. Few posts ago, I wrote about Maxis broadband that I just signed up, the next thing there will be a large rectangle ad for Maxis broadband somewhere this month, check it out ya peeps, their connection rockz! And 2 post ago, I participated in the Fridays' competition co-joint with nuffnang, it brought me sudden rush of memories and the next thing, I got noted and expect large rectangle ad from Fridays somewhere around this month.

So sometimes it is not really that bad to share our experiences in the blogosphere, nuffnang altogether had brought all blogs connected to these advertisers. Nuffnang rocks! Nuffnang BOLEH!


Nuffnang also added colors to my blog with their interactive cheerful banners. And best thing, the founder also a personal friend is one down to earth guy who also blogs. (hinting boss stewie to be as featured blogger :P). Friends forever ya!

I couldn't find a picture any better than this in support to call & reach more readers about what happening this month. I was wearing pink with my buddy checking on my breast...

YES, this month is the wear pink ribbon month - breast cancer awareness month. After reading on Princess' blog, I felt I got a duty to spread this. I call on all females not to neglect this simple practise as the possibility of breast cancer worldwide is incredibly high at 1:4 (in every 4 females, there is one positively contracted breast cancer). Guys out there, you have a duty too k if you are attached or married. I used to bring my ex for padsmear test without fail on schedule. Do your part if you love your loved ones.


And something off topic from the above mentioned, I will be holding a small get together-gether this Saturday at the Curve. I was chatting with another blogger friend few days back, we were thinking to have a yam char session together as it had been a while since we last met up at the MS Tech Ed, so the yam char session originally was both of us, so we thought we gonna be a bit chicky and make a call to perhaps a small groupie who reads our blogs or bloggers we linked together. Why I Want To Eat At Fridays?

Received a mail from Nuffnang today about Fridays giveaway for best posting. In fact, this is the very first time I participated in Nuffnang's contest. Fridays hold a very special place in my heart, and that is one of the reason I decided to blog about it, regardless whether I will win anything or not. Fridays gave me a memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Stories below are mostly about my past, and what I miss most in recent days & months.

This was back in 2003, I brought my ex-gf to this special place and celebrated her birthday with her, our first year together. I still remember vividly, it happened at TGIF, One Utama. I remembered going there early to arrange the little surprise for her that night. We had great time, the crew gave a good birthday song & a cake and we had our very first photo together.




Fridays too hold my farewell party arranged by my ex-colleagues. We really had a 'siao' & fun time together. This was back in 2006 at Fridays, The Curve and what arranged for me that night indeed moved my heart.



I was made to stand on the chair to give my farewell speech and the crew sang me a farewell song. The crew had been a great fun bunch throughout my outings @ Fridays.

Back in 2006 again, I celebrated my birthday with my ex. My last birthday celebration with her before we decided a separation for good. It was again the best birthday I had had throughout the years. Check out the special note she scribbled (I am still keeping it). She knew I always love the juicy Jack Daniel Steak so she took the trouble to arrange this for me...




Had one of my best fulfilling meal that night... And I miss her greatly...





And just recently celebrated one of my buddy's birthday there.






Fridays had decorated my life indeed, from friends to loved ones, from colleagues to my family. It always hold a special place in my heart.
