When Beauty & Doughnuts Meet

This week blogging would be seriously dull as I am without my digital camera, my brother went for cruise, so he needs it for a week I guess. I never know blogging can be seriously addictive, the number of people I networking with through the blog is increasing progressively.

Last Saturday met up with one of the celebrity in the blogsphere, the lovely girl herself, Nicole Tan or better known as Nicolekiss. I think so far, all the celebrity bloggers I met, are seriously very approachable, people like KennySia, Smashpop & Boss Stewie to name a few.

Reason I caught up with Nicole was to pass her this...

And more and more of this....

If you had been a follower of her blog, she is crazy about this Krispy Kreme but this time around bought her J.CO instead, another big doughnut chainstores in Jakarta. I was thinking of how to pass this to her, and before meeting me up, she had already done her homework checking with other bloggers whether I am a SAFE person or not. Hehehe... it is official!!! I AM A SAFE PERSON, not a PERVERT k :P

We chatted everything about the bloggosphere, some bloggers we known of, her next trip, my next trip, blah blah blah. Lasted for an hour or so, she is damn tall... OK OK I AM SHORT!!! And she looked terribly tired, I mean really tired kind of look but made the effort to come out though but we diden manage to camwhore as I personally feel the cafe we went to is not too appropriate to do that, maybe next time around in our hometown Malacca maybe.

And in my IMHO, I tried J.CO, I prefer it over Krispy & this (the one in the Curve)

Went back to Melaka immediately after the drink with nicole, had a great great getaway break back in hometown which I much needed. Suppose to be on leave on Monday but due to unavoidable circumstances in the office, I was called back by my boss to work on Monday itself. Guess I will be back in Melaka this week again, maybe to rest and get back my camera. I miss my camera so badly. The last pic I took before I hand it to my brother.

Picture taken in Friends' Cafe in Melaka (outing with Angela & friends)
What's install for tomorrow? Stay tune k...

Wasted

Last Friday was spent @ Sanctuary with a bunch of friends. Met up with a long lost friend, it felt so good to meet her again, I got to thank her for initiating the SMS to me, hey Christine, it had been some time, and great seeing you again, and indeed you are much prettier than before!!!

As the nite grew, more and more of my buddies turned up, it is quite true networking pretty important, met many many people there. We were joined by Alan, Crystal, Albert, Denise, Spike & Chris later that night.

After a few jugs of beers (3 jugs maybe), and a bottle and half of Jack Ds, our Japanese guest sat down and start to sing to me, "I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell", then I asked, "You OK?", he replied with this look...

We continued to party & drinking responsibly as a Malaysian...

And the results.... check out the video below (on your speaker!!!)

Bumbu Bali

Went to this Indonesian restaurant in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. As I had never tried on Indonesian food before, I am a bit skeptical of what they going to serve but trust me this is one of my most highly recommended restaurant that serves great food at a very reasonable price.

The decor and environment are of Balinese feel, I took a few pictures of the decor and most importantly the food is fantastic.

Finally the food, I had Nasi Campur Bumbu Bali, combination of squid, fish fillet & prawn served with fragrant rice & my friend tried on Nasi Betutu with a massive half of a grilled chicken. Big portion.

Nice or not? Better say nice!!! :P

It's Friday!!! Yippee!!!

If possible I want to forget the Thursday, it was a chaotic day for me yesterday for the whole day. I am unable to update my blog, my time was ruined by somebody who officially declared office war with me, and amazingly this is from the opposite sex. Do not get me wrong, for everyone who knows me, they definitely enjoy working with me. However, out of nowhere this girl is picking on me, not one time, a few times. Hmm, what should I do? Ignore is the best right? Having a war with somebody of her mentality would be an insult to my intelligence right? I just crossing my finger she will read this.

OK, what did I miss out yesterday? Oh ya, went to the match of Korea vs Iraq, electrifying match, but I got to agree that Iraq was the better team that night. Again the match was decided on penalty kicks. I went with this Jap guy who shouted Nippon Nippon all the way but Japan also out in the end :P

Went dinner after that @ a very highly recommended place in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. I shall blog about it in a separate posting soon, suspense suspense ;)

Cheated

Something to rant about today for my posting. It may be a small thing but what the heck. Remember how happy am I during my last trip to Ipoh and had original OLD TOWN iced white coffee @ their very very first branch? This is the original pic taken, and cost probably if I am not mistaken RM2/glass.

I went to their franchise outlet, the mushrooming OLD TOWN Kopitiam (located in Selayang) with my guest from Japan & a bunch of close friends. Ordered the same white coffee as it is their specialty and this is what we got;

This cost about RM2.90 before tax. When I enquired, the reason being they are out of the normal usual plastic cup than can be filled up. I was like, Duh??? It is rather a small thing but I promised to blog about it and write a letter direct to the Kopitiam to clarify this, customer always right anyway.

On the brighter note, I received an email 2 days ago, to inform me that I am one of the 4 winners for the KennySia's mini Smirnoff contest, there will be a mini launching for Smirnoff new flavour @ The Sanctuary, The Curve but very unfortunately I cannot make it to the launch as I am going for the AFC Semi-final match today, South Korea against Iraq. I am a RED DEVILS after all, drinking session put aside. ;)

The chant "Dey Har Ming Kook" will be heard tonight (In Korean, Republic of Korea!!!)

Homecoming The Starz

I went to airport to pick up somebody from Japan. If it is not because of his celebrity status, I wouldn't have brave the traffic jam to go all the way to KLIA to pick him up... hehehe... nah, just joking... indeed he had made us Malaysian proud, a bit of his profile later after the pictures...

I was there as early as 6pm, as he is supposed to touch down 6.30pm but waited quite a bit for him, no choice celebrity status as you all know... as he walked out in his avant garde fashion piece with his sunglasses, I was like, "Phew, finally..."

A little bit on his biography, where many Malaysian artists would venture into Taiwan/Hongkong entertainment industry, my this friend had make a bit of buzz in Japan instead. He had acted a bit in some of the big names MV in Japan, Ayumi Hamazaki, Namie Amuro to name a few. He had also played a minor role in some of the Japanese drama there, acted alongside Kimura Takuya & Takeshi Kaneshiro.

10 years back, no one will expect a Selayang boy like him to make it into the entertainment industry and the best thing is that of all part of the world, he chose Japan. Welcome back Kenji, this 2 weeks we promise you plenty of FUN!!!

AFC Q-Final

How was your weekend peeps?

My Sunday relatively peaceful, although I buntut gatal went & commented on 5xMom's site for her critisizing the NEGARAKUKU MV done by the Muar boy. But then nevermind lar, both of us are bloggers, she may find the MV offensive but I find this boy is talented.

Ok, Sunday went for S.Korea against Iran, electrifying atmosphere especially the REDS. It had been a while since I last saw a match in the stadium, i think the last would be MU vs Malaysia few years back. Check out the photos...

Dull match, but penalty kick was really a drama. This Wednesday, S.Korea against Iraq, anyone?

Sohai

While in Malaysia blogosphere, we got all this tussle about the controversial gathering that was held weeks ago jointly (Malaysian Blogger's Day vs 5xMom & Friends), in Singapore we had something I felt damn 9 hilarious. I was asked by a fellow blogger to check out XiaXue's latest posting.

Let me just get the story right... One morning XiaXue woke up from her sleep (I personally think that she must be harrassed badly in her dreams), she decided to create an entry all about the most disgusting bloggers around, she named a few and what even more hilarious here is the video reply from the disgusting man himself (trust me, he is damn disgusting), he kept on asking XiaXue to suck, suck, suck. Suck what? I think the social pressure there really taken its toll on these people, real KUKU...

He called XiaXue a CHICKEN PIE blogger, while XiaXue claimed that his look offended her eyes. I would say both of you are real classic although Steven was more like a psycho. And thanks to XiaXue too, she posted other few disgusting bloggers in Singapore (I never bother to check also) but seriously she got her point leh. So is this Singapore blogosphere filled with attention seeker disgusting bloggers?

PS: And oh ya, this 5 kali Mommy again just hit on the Muar guy's controversial MV. Another attention seeker, sigh, sorry mommy, hope this is not offensive :P ... oh ya, i diden put any link for all above, just google it lar :)

Syok Saturday

Taking time off politics this time around, it's Saturday anyway. Had this great lunch with my youngest brother, sorry I forgotten to take down the shop name but it is pretty to locate the place though (somewhere near the Mines), call me if you wanna go someday. Will be more than glad to bring you all there.

Ordered a few dishes but the specialty here is the "Paper Wrapped Chicken", it is some kind of marinated chicken wrapped in paper, result : Super YUMMY. Then we had a few various kind of "Yong Tau Fu", their signature dish "Tofu with Pickles" and "Fried Venison with Ginger & Onion". Good food at reasonable price but I just felt I ordered too much this time around cause there is only 2 of us, and we really can't finish it all. Imagine 4 dishes for 2 of us, tamak kan i?

Paper Wrapped Chicken

Yong Tau Fu

Signature Tofu with Pickles

Fried Venison with Ginger & Onion

Hungry people? Let's go!!!

ranting - FCUK streamyx, took ages to upload the photos, for god sake improve the fcuking connection. Mahai KNNBCCB....

Went back to office & work today, meeting with Angel team and freaking tired, to many LG is Life's Good but for us people who worked inside is like Life's Gone instead. Ain't it suppose to be a 5 days work company? And I am stucked with paper works & meeting on a Saturday. After meeting, went online for a bit, caught up with Charmayne who invited me to join her @ Starbucks, Bangsar Village. Met up with Mayne & Lizz for the very first time and they like my shirt (camwhore), nice meeting you girls! Muacks!!! But we diden manage to take any picture :(

Was lining up @ Starbucks to get myself Latte Venti when the crew said
Crew: Nice shirt, where you bought it sir? (he thought it is a Starbucks shirt)
Me: Uhh, I am sorry, diden mean to...
Crew: Why Sorry??? (he looked at my shirt, and can see that he mumbled wtf!), ohh... I see, nice shirt nice shirt
Me: Not my fault, someone bought it for me (I just bought it 2 days ago @ Petaling Street)
Crew: *Laugh*

And what installed for tomorrow? Watching the Asian Cup Q-final, match between South Korea & Iran, a sponsored match by LG, so we get to go for free. Will be in REDS tomorrow!!!

Ops Bersih

I had to sacrifice my Harry Porter movie outing with the New Community because I felt I have an urge to join this BERSIH convention and thought that I can share this with my fellow readers who all while being blinded by the bias local media. Sorry Christien & Lavin for unable to turn up for the outing.

My second consecutive forum in the Chinese Assembly Hall. The day 20072007 will mark history as it is the very first time we see the real unity of we Malaysians, the voices & chants, people of various agama & bangsa gathered in a Chinese Assembly Hall to fight for a better nation, the better of our beloved country. Enlightenment about the real democracy and our rakyat's right and a call for a fairer incoming General Election.

It was indeed a special meaningful convention for an auspicious date like today (20072007) as many eye opener issues were discussed & well debated by various NGOs and political parties. Finally, we got a platform to hear the truth, nothing but the truth which I am very sure it wont be covered in the major newspapers in Malaysia. Nevertheless, the crowd of approximately a stronghold of a few thousands flooded the hall with one call, a better and fairer Election Commissioner or the SPR.

I believed there will be an extensive detailed coverage on Malaysiakini today and meeting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR advisor was indeed a joy. We were entertained with a good speeches meted out by the leaders of respective NGOs & political parties. And familiar faces of some political activitists can be seen.

All in all, what we requested are a fairer PKR, a fairer media coverage on all parties and to improve the current procedures of election. By all means, I am not an extremist just an activist fighting for rights, voicing ourselves as a taxpayer, voicing myself as a blogger and the freedom of speech, we indeed have a bargaining power my dearest government, ain't we?

I believe the segelintir of us can make a difference if we play our role right, regardless of who is going to run the country, all we demand is TRUTH, JUSTICE, EQUALITY & FAIRNESS.
Is that too much? Uhh... better say no more, later kena... ;)

On top of that, articles from Malaysiakini;

Ministry bans Islamic state debate in media
Ng Ling Fong & Soon Li Tsin
Jul 19, 07 5:43pm

The Internal Security Ministry has confirmed that they have given a directive to all mainstream media not to publish any news on the issue of Malaysia being an Islamic state.

Internal Security Ministry’s Publications Control and Al-Quran Texts Unit senior officer Che Din Yusof told malaysiakini that they are afraid that allowing such discussions would cause “tension”.

“Yes we have given the directive to all mainstream newspapers. Islam is a sensitive issue. They cannot publish any news on whether the country is secular or Islam.

“Stop harping on this. The debate would never end,” he asserted when contacted today.
However, he said newpapers can still publish statements from Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Najib Abdul Razak on the country being an Islamic state.

On Tuesday, Najib said Malaysia is an Islamic state and not a secular one while carefully assuring members of minority faiths that their rights will be protected.

He said the mainly-Muslim Malaysia has never been a secular nation as the government has always been driven by the fundamentals of Islam.

“Islam is the official religion and we are an Islamic state," Najib told reporters after he opened an international conference on the role of Islamic states.

“But as an Islamic state, it does not mean that we don't respect the non-Muslims. The Muslims and the non-Muslims have their own rights,” he was quoted saying.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

PS: Tension? First & foremost, siapa yang mulakan dahulu? (In a shocking state of emotion now)

:(

Are We Free???

I am gonna blog about this in a very mikemmery's way. Attended a forum help by DAP in conjunction of Nathaniel Tan's release from the 4 days trauma in IPD Dang Wangi. The forum starts @ 7.30pm, so I thought of leaving office early to make sure I do not get caught in the freaking traffic jam as the forum's venue is at the Chinese Assembly Hall (near Maharajalela area).

Traffic was surprisingly good. Reached there like about 5.40pm, called a few bloggers & friends to see if they are interested but many seriously worried about being watched by our MA-TA (hokkien version), I respect you guys' decision of not joining, but surely want you guys to understand my decision to attend this is not to provoke the authorities but to clear the mist that had been BLINDing me & also to understand in depth what is Malaysian political environment is.

Since I reached there early, I thought of going jalan-jalan along the Petaling Street since it had been a while since I last went there and end up buying this...

It is like going round and round the whole Petaling Street selling like the same stuff over and over again and it is this 2 shirts that caught my attention, glad I got it ;)

Then called up fellow blogger Kenneth asking if he is interested, before I could say anything on the phone, he said he is in after like reading my previous post. I am glad I got company. He is somehow on the same brainwave as I am for the betterment of Bolehland. So we had a drink & chatted about mostly socio-political condition, blah blah blah.

Finally we went to the venue at about 7pm, there were already a bunch of handsome crowd there, and I bought myself a copy of ROCKET newsletter & glad Kenneth got himself registered as a voter, great going dude!!!

Went in the auditorium and the banner says it all, "NO TO POLICE STATE IN BLOGOSPHERE". While we were browsing through the newsletter bought, the crowd is getting bigger & bigger and the first familiar face that we managed to spot is the godfather of Malaysian blogs himself, Mr. Jeff Ooi. My first time meeting him in person, nice down to earth as he shook hands with everyone. Then followed by Tony Pua (Economic Advisor to DAP Sec-Gen), the arrested made famous Nathaniel & his gf yang dikasihi, Soon Li Tsin (Malaysiakini journalist), Lim Guan Eng (DAP Sec-Gen), Nurul Izzah Anwar (Anwar Ibrahim's daughter) & Harris Ibrahim (influential lawyer & Founder of the People's Parliament).

I would not go into detail of the contents of the forum here as it would be unwise to do so but to summarize it, this would be the 50th year of Malaysian Independence, we should have been free 50 years ago and looking at present time now, from Nat's experience himself, the question here is ARE WE FREE??? There is averagely 9 rape cases a day now according to the latest crime statistic, is our MA-TA that free enough to arrest a Harvard graduate for being suspected of having/possessing national secret rather than to curb the rape cases? Think! Just like decoding the Da Vinci code huh? And hell yeah, I like the joke on Sammy ;)

And finally I bought a worthy read that will keep me away from my PSP for a while :P
